Can you upgrade to expedited shipping after an order is placed?
We have a decent amount of customers who message us after placing an order and ask to expedite their shipment. This is an option at checkout, but for whatever reason they don't do that and then choose to message us. Is there anyway for us to upgrade the shipping service and charge them appropriately after an order has been placed?

Nope. If customers want to upgrade they will need to cancel their order and place a new one with expedited shipping (assuming you offer it).

The only way I can think of is to have the customer cancel the order and re-order. I will also add that I am currently entirely FBA, so it is no longer something I have to deal with. Personally, on my own website and other platforms I sell on, I no longer offer any type of expedited shipping. I was more hassle than it was worth and I burned out on it during COVID trying to get stuff to businesses and contractors so they could open up. I do, however, serve a very small niche market.

Sounds as if you have a bunch of cheap buyers, for which AMZ is renowned.
We upgrade shipping over a certain $$ amount. Plus most light books such as Mass Markets, most which weigh between 7-8 oz, including packaging.
Gets my goat to have buyers whine they've forgotten to add EXPEDITED shipping! Strange you should get many of these "requests"-are you a new seller? These folks are attempting to take advantage.
You could offer a small break on cost of Expedited if you're a Pro-seller( set shipping templates/offer Free shipping).
