Two selling accounts at same address
Hello all
As a new seller, and having read the forums after I opened my selling account, I hadn’t realised that I should have obtained permission for another seller account to be opened from the same address
To be clear, my seller account is a professional one with a Ltd business, but my partner’s, who lives with me is a Personal Seller account that he has had for years.
To be on the safe side, literally 30 minutes ago, I opened a case and to my surprise, got the following reply
Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,
I understand that your concern regarding multiple selling accounts (Your account and your partner’s account).
Please be informed that Amazon is no longer requiring sellers obtain approval for multiple selling accounts. However, Amazon recommends that you only open a second selling account if you have a legitimate business need and all of your current accounts are in good standing.
Amazon cannot make this determination for a seller, but examples of a legitimate business need are:
- Owning multiple brands and maintaining separate businesses for each
Example: Parent company has multiple brands and want to have separate storefront names for each - Manufacturing products for two distinct and separate companies
- You are recruited for an Amazon program that requires separate accounts
However If you wish, you can inform our seller performance team at below email address.
Email-seller-performance@amazon.co.uk
…………….any thoughts on whether I should now Email Seller–Performance, or go with the above
Thanks

I would email seller performance and copy the email received from seller support and just ask them to verify it.
Normally I’d advise people to stay off the radar of seller performance but it’s the bots that pick up multiple accounts so best to sort it beforehand. As you say, if it’s two separate enterprises etc they should be allowed anyway.
There was an update recently about having 2 accounts but I don’t think they have scrapped the rules as such

Hopefully they have begun to see sense and realise that often households have more than one person with either separate businesses or a personal account. I do hope so.
