See VAT Number on orders

Hi, how can I see what the VAT number of the customer ordering a product from my business is? I need a VAT number for my own tax purposes in the country that I’m operating in, is there a way to display the VAT number in the invoice?

My understanding is that you would treat all customers without a validated VAT number as if they did not have a VAT number (e.g. a regular consumer sale). If you’re VAT registered in another EU country you’d be effectively supplying yourself (in the other country) so would record it as a sale to yourself on the EC Sales List.
