Why the restriction for selling used books?
I’m looking to get rid of a bunch of old books that I have, however whenever I try to Add a Product and list a particular book, Amazon restricts me from doing so. I’ve noted the restriction as follows:
" Refurbished condition: This product has other listing limitations."
Does anyone know why I’m restricted from listing used books to sell? Any help would be appreciated.

I think a lot of book sellers would struggle with the “why” behind the way things have gone with selling used books on Amazon. A while back a lot of publishers became gated, though typically approval is either automatic or comes after answering a set of questions. I dread to think how many times i’ve answered the same questions.
Anyway, sometimes you can have success by clicking the “sell yours” button on the detail page itself. If not then i’d suggest adding the book to the “try again in a couple of weeks” pile and then the “sell on ebay” pile.

I often see that message when I’m listing books but it lets me list anyway. Does it not let you proceed?

I don’t think this has anything to do with the vast majority of used books. Most used books are not re-furbished. I assume that it refers to books that have been rebound.
I dont think that is this that is stopping you listing your books.
Unfortunately amazon has a way of making things very difficult for used book sellers
