Why do so many "business customer's" orders remain pending for so long?

Some orders remain pending for a week and are finally cancelled. Others remain pending for a couple of days before becoming ready for shipping. Most of the orders that are pending for a long time are business customers. What’s going on?

Business customers are different than regular Amazon customers.

An Amazon customer sees the item and buys it.

Business customers see the item, puts it in the basket, then screenshots (or writes the total cost) then takes it to accounting for approval. Until the purchase is approved the item remains pending. Sometimes it doesn’t get approved and the buyer forgets to remove it and it just times out.

Cost estimates, PO approval, etc.

If this happens regularly, I would suggest that your price is likely not competitive and that a more economical option is available elsewhere.
