Importer Of Records - FBA
Good afternoon.
I am currently selling on UK+Euro marketplaces and I have branched out into the US.
I am not up to date on current import law and my 40units have been held at UPS as I don’t have an “Importer Of Records”
Is it possible for someone could point me in the right direction?
Does Amazon partner with warehouses that can sign for my products?
Kind regards
Thomas

I believe that you need to be the importer of record, shipping the goods duty paid. Shipping to Amazon USA FBA warehouse from UK
Maybe check on the US FBA forum boards?

The importer of records is the person legally responsible for importing the goods, paying the tax and duties due and ensuring that goods meet all local laws. So, in a word, it’s yourself. When you shipped the goods, you should have prepared the commercial docs on which, you would have put yourself down as the importer of record.
As for the signing and delivery of the products, then Amazon will handle that for you as it’s no different to the set up in the EU.
