Stranded inventory for three weeks
Since signing up for FBA and sending my products to Amazon, they’re all been listed as ‘stranded inventory’. The reason for this is that my account is “not fully onboarded”, although I can’t see what else I might have to do to legitimize my account. When I click on this reason, it gives the broader reason:
“Your listings are temporarily inactive while they are being prepared for this marketplace.”
I really don’t understand what else needs to be done to prepare my listings for the marketplace. They already have the products in the fulfillment centers - and they’re mostly listed as ‘available’. Can anyone help me understand what is going on here, and what I have to do to resolve this so that my products will appear as ‘in stock’?

Sorry to say, but you are starting off on the wrong foot.
1. Just wait. Amazon stated that they are working on your shipment. Amazon never states a timeline for their receiving FBA products.
2. Before sending anything to FBA, smart sellers always test sell their product for at least a month using FBM. That way you will know the salability of the product and how much profit you can expect to make.
- That way you know if there is enough profit in the product to pay all the fee Amazon will assess and still have your desired profit left over for yourself.
- In addition, you can be selling the product FBM while you wait for Amazon to get your FBA product sorted out.
3. Remember Amazon FBA is not designed to make selling easy, carefree, and profitable. It is designed to extract as much of a seller's profit as they can, often leaving no profit for the seller.
