Read onlyHi Sellers,
As we are all aware, your detail pages can make or break your success on Amazon. It can be incredibly difficult to try to figure out what to improve when you have been working with products for a long time alone. We're starting this thread to help each other optimize listings through peer review and shared insights.
There are TWO ways to participate:
π SEEKING FEEDBACK? Post your ASIN
π SHARE YOUR SUCCESS: Share your ASIN
The goal is practical, actionable feedback from fellow sellers and even some from your Community Managers who understand the challenges you're facing and have tools you might not have available!
Get posting everyone and lets improve your Amazon Catalog one ASIN at a time!

It would be nice if Amazon actually let their sellers fix incorrect information on their detail pages, and improve their detail pages, without a seller support case fight, live chat fight, and rep on the phone fight, without escalation to the executive selling relations team, only to have Amazon's AI remove the detail page after for a false flag.
We are currently going through a hassle where Amazon automatically updated the product titles of multiple of our ASINs without any notification. Even though we are the brand owner and also the only seller, our contribution to the backend has not gone through. The seller support people, as always, have no idea what they are doing. This issue has already started causing returns and complaints from customers.
There are many issues to be fixed. Here are the top of my list.
1- Country/Region of Origin is locked - Why we can't change the supplier? What if we are manufacturing in country A and we face supply chain issues like we did during covid and we have to move production to country B and this option is locked? As the brand owner, we should have the ability to show accuracy to our customers and changing the country of manufacturing is not possible. That's nonsense.
2- Brand Hijacking - A simple search in the forum and you will find hundreds of sellers complaining their brand was replaced by another brand. What do they have in common? The hijackers are always Chinese sellers. For context, I have nothing against China since we also buy some products from them, but this is becoming a serious problem. We had our brand hijacked 2 times by 2 different Chinese brands in the same listing and we have our brand in the brand registry. Let's say we have the brand called APPLE and we decide to rebrand and call it RED APPLE, Amazon will not allow us to make the change no matter what documents we provide, but, these hijackers can find a way. This is frustrating because Amazon is not doing and effective job. Imagine you see your product there, but now you can't make changes or even send more inventory to FBA because now you need to request approval to yangyongyung...
3- Mandatory Fields - Every time when you make changes in the product detail page you create new useless mandatory fields. One example is product variation. Sometimes you have the same product coming from different suppliers. Let's say Color Pink comes from Country A, color Blue comes from Country B, color yellow comes from country C. Many of these fields should be optional and UNLOCKED when you are creating the Parent so we can adapt to that product variation later. The way it is, once you create the parent, all child variations will get the same info locked FOREVER.
4- Stop automatically changes with your AI. Request approval first. what about highlighting some improvements or suggestions? I know Amazon is the owner of the catalog, but it is not the owner of the product and should not decide how this product should be represented without the brand owner authorization.
We used to be able to fix obvious typos in the title, author, etc. on the main page, providing a link to the LOC catalog. Now nothing. And what about the many pages where a seller has put their own personal information on the main page? E.G. isbn 8787461048, 8787461021 and many many others. I have complaining to seller "support" about these in the past, but no longer bother.
No offense, but why have you even started this? Amazon doesn't care.
"Letβs improve your detail page together!"
NO!!! Let me accurately set the details of my own branded product, and keep Amazon out of my listing altogether. That would be the single best improvement (anti-deprovement?) of my listings.
At some points these posts start to feel like trolling. Amazon KNOWS that sellers hate what Amazon is doing to the catalog, and AI and non-existent support is only going to make it worse (or, Amazon is deaf ... which is worse?). By taunting us with these kinds of posts, it's almost like you're rubbing it in.
Someone there ought to be ashamed. That's not going to happen any time soon, either.
Hi there folks ,
I understand the frustration and concerns you've had with catalog contributions not being accepted, particularly the challenges of making detail page changes. I'll continue to share these examples and experiences with our internal teams. This particular thread was created to offer an additional resource - using the collective experience of sellers who've optimized their listings as well as the insights of our Community Managers. The intent is to help up level listings based on fresh perspectives and peer feedback.

Have a human verify the amazon bots results before taking action on what the bots reported. Randomly change product detail and attributes, move to different category, move to different a category internally, random takedowns without a human verification. ( plant seeds, cosmetic claim, medical claim..... )
New unnecessary required field every couple of weeks can make our life much harder than necessary. Have of the new fields I don't even know what it means, but yes, it's required.
I recently updated all of my 1200+ titles for my items after we got a notice about having to use 200 characters or less etc. A big majority of them never updated after saving them. They are still how they were before. Felt like a huge waste of time updating that many items only to get about a 50/50 result when it was completed.
The ASIN is B00ZJRPIFG.
In the description, it says "Seventh printing". No edition is mentioned. Seventh printing of which edition?
This is like saying "I was born on the seventh." Seventh of which month? By itself, it is meaningless.
Of course, almost all of the books on that page are not seventh printings of any edition. Some are sixth, some are twentieth. Some are book club.
The words 'seventh printing' should be eliminated.
@Glenn_Amazon If you are interested in getting better pages, can you get this page fixed?
