Fairly simple USPS claim on lost return
I had a return package that was lost by the USPS. I went online and filed a claim for a lost package.
An Amazon returns detail page screenshot was sufficient for proof of value.
5days later I had a check from the USPS covering the value of the contents of the package AND the return shipping cost. The return shipping cost they paid me back included their adjustment.
I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of this process.

Hello @Seller_3wzBczgcWe0Ch
WOW, that is fantastic. I am so happy to hear that you had a positive experience resulting out of a lost package claim. Thank you for selling on Amazon! I hope to see more of you here in the forums.

I'm going through a similar issue trying to file a claim for a damaged USPS package. I've sent in the invoice from Amazon, but so far they're saying it's not a sufficient proof of value. Was your "returns detail page" screenshot from the transaction view? If not, where was it from if you don't mind sharing. Maybe it could help me out.

We had an UPS lost return package and UPS sent Money to Amazon because it was shipped under Amazons UPS account.

It has to be Priority mail, first class was always refused, but now that Ground Advantage is insured I wonder if they'll refund for those this year. Sure will be nice. We can always hope for the best :)

Lucky you.... In my case, I was not that lucky after the USPS delivery person dropped the package at the front door of an apartment in New York and it got stolen. Even though I paid for extra insurance, the USPS claimed that the package was delivered. Nevertheless, the USPS delivery person's responsibility was to knock at the door and never leave a priority mail package at the front door of any apartment in New York City. I lost the case and furthermore, I had to send the client another product because customer satisfaction is our #1 priority.

You would have a completely different experience with UPS.
Where with the Post Office you are the shipper of record.
But with UPS Amazon is the shipper of record and Amazon will NOT lift a finger to assist you with a claim.
