Must a packing slip be included?

Must the Amazon packing slip be included?

We’ve just switched parcel carriers and they have a thermal printer set up that prints the shipping address onto a sticky label.

As we now have just the sticky address label set up, we potentially don’t need to have the document enclosed pouches that we used previously. It was in these pouches that we placed the Amazon packing slip along with the carrier’s shipping label showing the barcode.

Ideally, we would like to do away with the pouches as they not only cost money to purchase but also the time involved to fold the packing slips to place within.

Due to our items being prepacked and with no real outer packaging/box or envelope to speak of, we cannot place the packing slip ‘inside’.

Does any one know if the packing slip is a must have?

Kind regards

I don’t think there is a policy on you including it but it is helpful firstly for buyers to see where they bought it from and secondly if a return comes back to you as undeliverable

Hi,

We either do not include a printed packing slip anymore or sometimes we do just print it on the thermal sticky label and enclose it in the parcel. We also could no longer justify the paper, printing and plastic pouch costs and even Amazon’s own parcels these days seem hit and miss with regards to if they include a little packing slip on thermal paper or not even that.

I hope this helps in some way. Amazon encourages uploading invoices to the order in seller central anyway so i don’t think printed packing slips would be essential

We never do for 1 reason. if in packing you put 1 packing slip in the wrong package (easily doable) you run the risk of suspension for a DPA breach on customer details.

I always add one - it prints off on a thermal label with the postage label

We have people buy 1 thing from us and 2 things from other sellers ie plates, napkins and party bag fillers - not realising we are all different sellers - this way they can see that the particular order from us has been delivered

If selling to customers outside the UK, from the UK, it can be helpful for customs if you put the slip (with the prices, taxes, etc.) on the outside, should customs want to check the value of the goods without opening the box. Even with the properly filled CN22/23s or other relevant customs paperwork and with the new IOSS come 1 July, they will still do checks.

I always do if it’s a business and I always do if the order name doesn’t match the delivery name .
