2 seller accounts with same address

Hi there,

Are you allowed to open an amazon account using the same registered address?

They are two separate companies owned by two different people (me and my brother)

Thanks!

Are you both ltd ?
Are you both accessing the same devices ?

If ltd , are the registered offices and residential addresses the same ?

Be careful If 1 account fails, or is suspended and they pick up any sort of link both will be closed.

I would personally even if registered different i would apply for 2 accounts just to be on the safe side?
sorry im unsure how to do this, but im aware some complanies have done it

While I cannot say for definite I believe I was suspended for this exact reason. There may be a proper way of doing this but if I was you I wouldn’t tempt fate.

You can apply to sell in different categories with the same company, but you cannot sell in the same product category

I have two accounts under the same Ltd entity, one for grocery and other for seeds and plants in garden

It’s not really a question of are you allowed, it is more of a question could you get penalised now or in the future for doing so.

The concerns that Amazon have with running and allowing more that one account is for security. Some think wrongly that having 2 accounts will create some sort of cushion if something goes wrong and prevents fraud/deception. If you had 2 accounts and say sold counterfeit goods or breached policy and the account got suspended, it is only right that you shouldn’t be able to continue with a back up plan.

Aslo there are legitinate reasons why some orgabisations run by shareholders may have more than one account for example takeovers, completely separate compnaies or if they are in the same situation as you are. Even based on the information given we have no idea whether you and you brother are working together other than your word. Same address would probably provide a flag but not necessarily pose a problem until one account comes under scrutiny and then the link will probably be considered.

The morale here is that although Amazon does not explicietly say this is allowed or not allowed, if something was to happen and one account was to be suspended it may or may not bring the other account under scrutiny and then the decision will be down to Amazon.

Every one on here klnows that Amazon can be a law unto themselves and they will generally apply their policies to suit their agenda rather than yours.

I am saying it is up to you whether you chance it but IMHO, I wouldn’t class this as a breach of policy. That being said it won’t help you if they decide to act on both accounts should something happen to one of them.

It’s easy enough to change your company’s registered address at CH. Personally I think I would do this rather than be a hostage to fortune that would bring your account down if Amazon suddenly took a dislike to your brother’s for some reason.
