Phone Call Puporting to be from Amazon?
Just had a call from somebody claiming to be ringing from amazon regarding our account being reviewed,
he said could he speak to someone that manages the amazon account,
He spoke very quickly with a spanish / english accent, I couldn’t fully understand what he was saying,
So I asked him what it was he ringing about because I didn’t catch what he said and he said our account being reviewed,
he said before we proceed can you provide me with the mobile number linked to the account, I said to him why don’t you tell me? he said pardon
.I said well if you are ringing from amazon then you should know what our mobile number is as you will have access to our account.
he said we require it for verification,
I told him I’m not prepared to give out sensitive info, he put the phone down on me.
He sounded pretty genuine but just be careful people

It’s a scam.
Amazon always ask for the last four digits of the bank account of credit card linked to your account or the email address linked to your account… they never ask for phone numbers.

SCAM Number again, if Amazon do call for us it’s always been an 00353 Ireland number, although we insist on all correspondence via the case log, they like you to open a case log but Seller Support prefer to phone you back.

Just had a very close call with this one, hopefully.
Monday’s are very busy, so when i get the call from the number - 028 9581 5115 - at 14.12, telling me that due to a failed login issue, my account may be put in review and that they just wanted to carry out a review over the phone so that its instantaneous as the normal process may mean that the account will be suspended for a few days at best.
It was asking for mobile number that set alarm bells ringing.
I also mentioned to him that by enlarge, Amazon is a faceless organisation that usually Sanctions First and ask questions later, so was this the new caring Amazon Seller Support!!
I told him that i will wait for the message to appear in Seller Support - Still Waiting.
After the call, i got to thinking to what they could actually do:
Lock me out of my account and put up loads of stuff for sale that would produce quick money and then disburse it to their account, or just disburse my money to their account.
In any case they will need to change the bank details and to do that they need my FULL bank details!!
Do they have them already, have they got them from somewhere else, possibly by asking to pay me by BACS!
What else could the do?
Since i have been targeted to receive the call, it may be prudent to change all passwords and change the setting in the Advanced Security Settings so that all devices will need a verification code for the near future.

Careful folks. Im based in the UK and have also had the phone call from Washington DC. Did keep them on the phone for a while to rack up their bill
