Because you don’t have shipping enabled for it.
Either that, or your not a pro seller account.

Thank you Tracey and Anglozone.
I have followed your suggestion/s and found that Std UK Domestic and Std UK Europe were both ticked all the while.
I have sold books into the Netherlands and Italy with no problem in the past, so cannot understand why Eire is now being a problem.
I have gone back and re-enabled UK and EU, so hope the customer can now make the purchase.

" Eire "( AKA The Republic Of Ireland ) is an EU country. Therefore, if you ONLY sell to the UK ( which I do ) anyone in The Republic Of Ireland ( which I don’t ) will not be able to purchase from you.

If anyone messages you, and you are pulling your hair out, then the Irish equivalent of Royal Mail, An Post, now has set up a service all " AddressPal ", which is a virtual UK address for Irish shoppers from Amazon et al and would be simple for your customer to set up, if they are that determined to buy from you. So it’s availabe to everybody in the Republic Of Ireland.

Suggest to your customer if they are that determined to buy from you, and there are repeating problems, then set up AddressPal via An Post. AddressPal is run by An Post, the Irish equivalent of Royal Mail. It’s totally legit, basically a State run PO Box service. Not some dodgy third party service.

An an interesting thing. The landmass of Ireland is divided into more than one state, much as many landmasses are. Using the Royal Mail to post from the UK ( AKA Northern Ireland ) to Republic of Ireland, the Royal Mail charge EU rates. Using An Post, to post from Tbe Republic Of Ireland to the Northern Ireland part of the UK, they charge exactly the same. To post something several yards from the " North " ( as a state ) Royal Mail charge EU rates, whereas in the opposite direction, An Post charge domestic rates … go figure … !

It maybe that your Buyer is not using his Eircode, ( Irish version of a Postcode ).

Amazon have been insisting Irish buyers enter a valid Eircode more and more recently, but many Irish people either do not know they have an Eircode or simply refuse to use it for whatever reason.

ASR makes a very good point. Also worth checking that your books are “physical” and not a kindle or e-book that they are trying to buy.
Make sure too that there is no future release date entered, which will also prevent a customer from ordering the book.
Fingers crossed this gets sorted quickly for you :crossed_fingers:t3:

Hi @De_Facto_Books,

I am an Irish seller on Amazon UK and have been selling there for over 10 years. I can’t actually get the link you post to the item on Amazon so I dunno if you are selling it through FBA or FBM but I’ll go through both senarios.

If the item is sold using FBM (ie you are shipping it) you need to ensure you have added Ireland as a country in your Shipping Setting (Settings -> Shipping Setting, top right) and edit the default shipping policy (or whatever one you are using for that listing, this could also be an issue if the listing is assigned to a different shipping policy, I normally just use the default and set things there)

In the policy, click to edit it first and scroll down to International. Here I have actually set individual regions with transit times, for example I have Ireland as it’s own region and 2-3 days transit time (lowest available even though I deliver in 1-2), I also have other EU countries on different times. As long as this is set and the listing is using this policy the buyer should be able to purchase it for that country. Check to make sure your listing is actually using the correct policy as it might be assign to different one which could cause delivery option not to show for that country.

If you are using FBA you need to ensure that you have the correct export settings set for this to allow amazon to ship outside of the domestic marketplace. This is set here (Settings -> Fulfilled by Amazon -> Shipping programmes and export settings -> Select marketplace ie amazon.co.uk) In that setting ensure you have selected export setting like EU or Worldwide, that will allow amazon to ship outside the domestice marketplace and charge the customer a shipping fee based on weight etc. There is also options here to restrict the countries they will ship to.

As long as your item isn’t a restricted good, for example batteries normally won’t ship outside the domestice marketplace unless you have stock in PAN EU or something, then they will send to those marketplaces also. I would assume books are not restricted so would ship everywhere.

Let me know if you’re using FBM or FBA, I do both and buyer in Ireland can definitely buy from me with the settings I am using.
