RATHER SILLY SITUATION OF AMAZON NON COMPLIANCE WITH UK LAWS

Books published on/before 31st December 1955 or the 70th Anniversary of the author death are out of copyright under Copyright Act 1911 as updated by Copyright Act 1956 and the Copyright Design and Patent act 1988 and demands for an invoice of 10 copies is unlawful as publisher has ceased to have control of the rights in law.

Books which have been made out of print and marked so Nielsen and Bookdata also Whitakers before it only be second hand or being sold as new therefore the publisher has previously had their money for first time purchase In some cases the publisher demanding invoice for 10 books for which they have returned the rights to the Author in one case recently we been involved with back in 1986 so the publisher no authority or power over the title

adding size variations is a nightmare because when you do it doesn't automatically fill out the size of each child ACIN so it splits them all then you need to go back into the listings and add the size to the size field one by one so it all joins together, also why does the parent ACIN need a size mandatory when the child ACINS are sized. it doesn't make sense because we need to put a random size in that doesn't conflict with a child ACIN to make it work which isnt right.

As a brand owner and manufacturer, we have a long standing problem with incorrect product images that has been going on for over 3 years without resolution. Although we publish books, Amazon has mixed up nearly 200 of our products, showing PAIRS of JEANS and not BOOK COVERS. Even though we are the brand owner and they are our products, Amazon refuses to acknowledge that the images are incorrect, even though they state they will remove images when they are the incorrect product! We've wasted hours and hours trying to rectify a very simple problem without any success whatsoever.

I have a 'Product Safety' violation on my account because I once had this book for sale:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Shadow-Sun-Vintage-International/dp/0679779078

This is almost certainly due to an Amazon bot mistaking a book for sunscreen lotion or the like but there is no obvious means of informing Amazon that 'health and safety' does not apply to this book.

I deleted it long ago but there is no way to remove this 'violation' other than by agreeing to one of these two options:

How do I address this violation?

Please choose an option for how you want to proceed.

I understand the policy and acknowledge the violation.

Select this option if you have removed the listing and would like to proceed with next steps.

I understand the policy and have evidence or documentation to submit for review to confirm my compliance with the policy.

So the only possible actions are to

(1) accept guilt for a non-existent violation or

(2) spend ages looking for impossible documents to prove you comply with this imaginary H&S issue.

or just ignore the warning, accept your 'guilt' and allow the catalogue error to continue unabated...

Just spending time reading through the posts whilst I wait for Amazon's validation system to lift the suppression on some main images I recently uploaded - all with pure white backgrounds (255.255.255 - can't get more white than white!) where I had to reopen the jpegs, 'fill in' the already pure white background with a 'new' pure white background, save and re-upload. Ridiculous!

All the images were created at the same time. All used identical white backgrounds, yet 1 in 10 always seems to fail. So I know it's definitely not something I'm doing and most definitely not because the backgrounds were 'non-white'.

Listing is great with amazon. The new system works a lot better than the old one. Especially making changes on the app.

My only issue is not a listing issue. But is there a way of seeing the customisation details on pending orders before they come though as sold. It helps us prepare when the orders are close to the Royal Mail collection time. Its more cost effective for us to prepare the order. If if the order doesn't actually come through in the end. This way we do not have staff sat waiting for the order that may or may not clear before the courier collection.

Thanks

Biggest challenge is that Amazon support is impossible to deal with and I spend days and days trying to get an answer. I can't reactivate an account because there is a violation on another country account. I can't delete or resolve the other country account as there is a violation on the opposite country account. I'm basically stuck in a massive loop for weeks on end where I can't delete an account because it need to be reactivated to delete it and I can't reactivate it due to a policy violation on the alternate account. Amazon support has been absolutely beyond useless for about 3 weeks now in getting any of the issues resolved.

Nothing ever just works on Amazon. Nothing in the listing process can be relied upon. Constantly there are bugs, mistakes & errors.

And more frustration. This morning I find that potentially hundreds of listings I updated with new keywords still have the old keywords. I don't know how far back this goes, but I've now got to go through 300 listings (with 22 variations each) to find out which have taken the new keywords and which were just ignored.

Nothing ever just works on Amazon. Nothing in the listing process can be relied upon. Constantly there are bugs, mistakes & errors.
