Product recall & over 800 incorrect refunds against my account... Help please!
Morning everyone, I hope someone can help with quite a serious problem which worsened last night.
On 30/11/21 I received a notification regarding a product recall for 7 ASINs I sell (foodstuffs) due to a potential contamination in the production for all products with an expiry date from 03/23-10/23.
Upon this notice Amazon have since deleted the 7 ASINs from their database, whilst this wasn’t needed, I can see how it could have been decided.
OK I thought, this sort of thing does happen from time to time, and usually there isn’t much I’m able to do to reinstate the listing without direct contact with the manufacturer (near impossible to obtain).
I checked all the stock I have sold over the previous 2 years by cross referencing with date reports from my suppliers and found that NONE of the units I have sold fall into this expiry period and therefore do not need to be recalled.
Last night I received over 800 emails from Amazon for customer refunds of these 7 ASINs dating back the last 6 months. My account balance has fallen from around £8k to minus £1k.
I also received an email from a recent customer stating they wanted to be reimbursed for consequential losses due to the recall, the image she supplied with the email showed the product with a 2022 expiry… Again, it did not meet the recall criteria.
To confirm I have NEVER sold these ASINS with an expiry within the recall date.
I would like some advice on what others think is the likely outcome of this and if/how is the best way to try and recoup the circa. £8,000 refunds which have been incorrectly debited from my account balance.

I have since discovered Amazon have debited by account for the gross sale value, thereby still receiving their commission & FBA fee on all these sales.
On average I received £5.00 net per sale and have had £8.50 debited for the incorrect refund, and have no recourse to the manufacturer who instigated the recall as none of the products I have sold were from the affected batches.
@Jessica - Can you please look into this and contact me?

Sounds like it might be related?
I think there was success in the thread linked from there - wish you the best of luck as that sounds really unfair.
