Changing from Individual to Business acount with Ltd company
Hi
I currently have an individual seller account that I have never used, set up a few years ago before I decided to sell a few books on eBay instead. I’m now in the process of setting up a new business and am interested in selling through Amazon as FBA. I’m looking at using a virtual address for setting up a Ltd company at Companies House to protect my home address, and would like to use this as my business address on Amazon. I’m perfectly happy for Amazon to know my home address as the main shareholder (and that of the other shareholder if needed), but don’t want that address shared with customers if I can avoid it. What steps do I need to go through on the Account page to ensure I don’t get banned and that the re-verification goes through fine?

You need to set up your ltd company and bank account
Then contact SS and state that you wish your legal entity section of your account to be reopened in order to change your legal entity
You will need to put the registered name and address of the company under business details and then list all shareholders with 25% or more in the business under beneficial owners and add their names and residential addresses - these will not be displayed anywhere on amazon to your customers
Amazon will then start asking for statutes, utility bills etc

Just for clarity here:
Even though you can use a virtual address for the company, your personal details (including your home address) will still be viewable to Joe Public on CH database, in your capacity as either director, secretary, shareholder or a combination of all three. I think people make the big mistake of thinking that by becoming a limited company, they can prevent their personal details from being publicly available. You can’t.
