Change item name for private label product
Hi everyone,
I’ve listed my first private label product. There was a substantial wait for shipping and customs etc but out of the blue the product turned up at Amazon.
I’ve been working on optimising the listing and would like to change the “item name” to improve ranking. The only way I can see to do this is: Log in, “manage Inventory” > “edit” > and amend the “item name”.
The issue I face is a message from Amazon stating that the new “item name” doesn’t match the ASIN details.
So I either need to amend the ASIN information or I need to keep the title as is. I’ve messaged the help desk and asked how I change the ASIN information, they’ve told me I need to delist it, wait 24 hours and then re-list the product under a new ASIN.
This feels really clunky (plus I’m not sure what happens to the stock I have in the amazon warehouse)
Does anyone know the best way to progress?

That doesn’t sound right
It’s usually relist it with same asin and sku
Have you tried a file upload ?

Amazon locks some attributes in some categories and you can not amend these. Try to delete the SKU from your inventory for 24h and then relist using a flat file (with an amended title) with the same ASIN. I think that is what SS asked you to do.
EDIT: The stock will go to stranded for the time when the SKU will be deleted. Then relist with the same SKU and ASIN and even if the title will not change, the stock will be available.

Also if you are new seller make sure you have all the documents and safety reports including invoices
Amazon will ask you for this.

You must be very brave to do this. Most will take a small delivery in the UK check products and then send it to FBA
