How long must I wait for a buyer to return an item

Hi

A buyer purchased a game and after 3 days opened a return request stating "Performance or quality not adequate " with no further comments. I approved the return immediately, but that was 56 days ago. How long do they have to return the game? Surely there must a time time limit?

I also have a second long outstanding return. In this case the return request was the same day the game was dispatched with the request stating “No longer needed” Once again I approved with a note that when they received the game they must return it first for a full refund. That was 38 days ago. Once again there must be a time limit as surely they can’t request a return then play the game for more than a month until they complete it then return it whenever they want.

In both cases buyers have not responded to me when notifying them that the game has still not been returned.

Usually according to Amazon policy it is 30 days from authorization of the return. You can in your return policy state lets say 15 days but you must have it clearly stated where the customer and Amazon can see it. It is still a toss up as an A-Z will honor the 30 days over yours most of the time.

Normally, Amazon will still require you to refund once a return arrives back, even if it’s past the initial 30 days return period, especially if the buyer shipped using a tracked service.

But you don’t need to refund the original shipping cost and can withold a restocking fee.

The Consumer Contract Regulations say that a buyer should return the goods to you within 14 days of cancellation.

What that means in Amazonland god only knows as I’ve never seen it written into their buyers terms.
