Has UPS lost the package after Collection

Hello,

We started FBA recently and this is one of our early FBA shipments.

The FBA collection shipment was booked to be collected by UPS this Monday (19/06/2023). There is a collection scan on the UPS tracking website @10:48am 19/06/2023.

However, 2+ days moving on there is no further tracking update beyond the collection scan e.g. received at local depot, left local depot. The delivery timeline states “The delivery date will be provided as soon as possible”.

Reason for worry - previous FBA shipments reached FBA-Tamworth on the same day of pickup; this one has not been even scanned beyond Collection Scan. So, where has this disappeared post collection scan?

What could have gone wrong? Can UPS loose the package?

If yes, when and how we raise a claim and to whom? We used UPS as recommended by Amazon as Amazon-FBA-partnered-carrier. Getting a sense on this forum it seems a nightmare to claim UPS lost FBA packages as Amazon owns the delivery.

Please advise!

It could be lost, but more likely just hasn’t been scanned again. I wouldn’t worry for a while yet.

As Demel says, don’t fret.

We’ve had them go AWOL for as long as ten days, they may well be in a trailer somewhere awaiting delivery.

Thanks both, will wait till next week.

However, please if someone can advise as we can’t get hold of any info to raise any claim if UPS (Amazon partner carrier) will loose the FBA inbound package?

Amazon seller dashboard is only highlighting the shipment can be raised for a claim once the package reaches Amazon!

I have seen this with a number of packages I send to FBA. It has been happening since I started FBA. It is always the same with a collection scan and no scan afterwards.

If like me it is Tamworth depot who pick up your parcels this seems to happen occasionally.
The parcels are always checked in and received even though the tracking does not update.

Contacted UPS just now

They have no clue where the package is, UPS advise once 3 business days have passed, which is 10:48 AM tomorrow, we can claim for the parcel online https://www.ups.com/claims/create?loc=en_GB however UPS will only respond only to Amazon against the claim.

Not sure what should we do? Should we file the claim OR tomorrow morning?

An interesting update.

Received email from Amazon FBA today morning 0200 AM they have started checking-in our FBA Shipment.

UPS tracking status is still stuck at Collection Scan.

Thanks everyone for your support

You need to wait a bit longer, as they might not even scan the delivery. It happened to me a few times. Tracking did not show the package as delivered, but a week later Amazon checked in the package. I wouldn’t worry, as it is insured up to £2,000.

In 7 years of using UPS for FBA shipments, they have never lost a box so I doubt that they have on this occasion.

Any suggestions today we had a response to a lost batch of inventory sent in to amazon. It was checked in as recieved and the number of items added to stock values on amazon and showed on the website as units available. since then a day passed and now 0 units are showing. checked the delivery status and its been changed from 7 received to 0 received and amazon now saying they wont refund as the items werent in the delivery. something is fishy and doesnt sound right.
