Amazon ads summit (Real or FAKE)

Hi sellers,
Just a quick one, can anyone please kindly let me know if this is real or fake.
I clicked on the virtual summit and it took me to a page (https://events.bizzabo.com/404549?utm_source=Save%2Bthe%2Bdate&utm_id=Email)
It was asking for my seller token amongst other things. I closed the page and just thought I should ask fellow sellers.
Thanks

Well I know when signing up for other software services, though they need your merchant token, they ALSO need the security key. So it’s unlikely that it’s a problem.

I received an e-mail from Amazon and I enrolled. I hope it is not fake for getting my information or worse.
Let’s see what other sellers will say.

It looked real to me. The email was from an @amazon.com. The only information it asked for that it didn’t give in the email was the merchant token, do you know of ways that could be used for fraud?

I agree it makes sense to be weary. It’s been a while since I’ve attended one of Amazon’s Webinars so I don’t remember, do they host them through an Amazon web address, or is that a third party site? Hopefully it’s just a case of outsourcing the ‘calls’ due to expected attendance figures and system requirements.

your merchant token is required to give 3rd parties access to your amazon account

is it common for the 3rd party running these amazon virtual ads seminar to request access to participating sellers’ account? any idea?

It’s not unusual when booking a webinar for them to ask for your merchant token.
I’m guessing, that it’s just a way of confirming who you actually are.

Makes absolute sense, thanks a lot. Can anyone with access to your merchant key do anything with your account? Once they have access, is there any limitation to what they can/can’t do on it?

As far as i know the merchant token is mainly used for things like the API. Whenever i give access to software i have to give them an additional password that Amazon generates and confirm to Amazon that i want them to have access to the API.
