i believe most people are using the amazon encrypted customer addresses

you are not allowed to contact buyers using direct emails.
If the item is custom, use the custom box(es) for them to input/upload what they need.
You can if they do not response through Amazon, copy and paste their encrypted emails from Amazon, into your direct email client, add the topic as [IMPORTANT]. We found this gets around most spam filters at their end and are more likely to see the email.

Now I understand it is for HM CUSTOMS! you can copy and paste the encrypted email address but you will get a notification from Amazon if the email address is used (I believe). You may have to say that you authorised it and remember that a lot of emails from Amazon tend to end up in spam/junk? look out for it.

If you have a Royal Mail Click and Drop account - https://business.parcel.royalmail.com/ - (not necessarily a RM Business account) and connect it to Amazon, their Amazon email address is passed to Click and Drop along with the full order details.
Although I have Click & Drop integrated, I don’t use it (just now). Order details are still passed to C&D, along with the customer’s telephone number and their Amazon email address. I just have it currently setup to mark items as “despatched by other courier” with a shipping rule and manually despatch from Amazon. But the details are there should I ever need them for a customs form.
