Document issued by HMRC - Unique Taxpayer Reference for Account Verification

Hi,

I am Sole proprietor. I was asked to contact HMRC and request a Confirmation of Unique Taxpayer Reference letter. But HMRC phone line was closed till September 4th. So I have downloaded from my Online HMRC account and submitted for Account Verification. But got the reply as 'The document you provided was a screenshot'. Any advise please...

Try their online chat. Might take a few goes, but I eventually got a real person. Then once through a load of security questions - have your last payments made/received from HMRC handy - I just requested a UTR letter for Amazon and it arrived 3 days later. Take a photo of it and upload it.

You will need an official document, HMRC do normally post these out, they will not accept a screenshot unfortunately.

Not sure on UTR but on some documents you can download an official copy, which would be acceptable to Amazon.

I believe they will accept a scan of the document.
