Amazon buying my FBA in UK and then selling it as 'sold by Amazon' in EU
I’ve been selling on Amazon for a while and have some products as FBA in UK. I was told by Amazon that making some of my products FBA in UK will remove them from sale in EU unless I also move stock to Amazon EU warehouse. I decided that the difficulty in getting stock to DE along with the TAX/Customs/Brexit was too much bother so choose to have my UK FBA product removed from sale in EU.
Fine - no problem, but then;
Amazon are buying my FBA products in UK and then offering them for sale as a ‘sold by Amazon’ product in EU. What gives?
I don’t mind if Amazon want to FBA my products to EU but this seems a bit weird. Also they are charging more than I would if I were selling direct, they’re taking a nice mark up and making it look like my company is part of it.
Whats going on?

This is how Amazon “bend” the law with regards to storing stock in the EU, clearly you have decided not to for your reasons. But as Amazon are VAT registered etc in those countries, they can technically buy the stock from you (UK) and “resell” within the EU.
Very dodgy but technically legal.

If you don’t want them doing it then you can go to your FBA settings and disable “Allow Amazon to buy my products to sell globally”.

That’s because amazon are buying your product from you and reselling it
You must have signed up to the programme. As Demel stated, you can go to settings and disable it

Personally I don’t see any issue with it, I wish amazon would buy as much stock from me as I could supply them.
