Buy Shipping - customer has multiple orders
HELP
We are new to using “Buy Shipping”.
We have a few orders today where the customer has placed separate orders but we would like to send them all together as they will all fit in 1 large letter. Is this possible??

We have the same issue. produce the postage label from buy shipping for one of the item with the total weight of your combined package. Then manual despatch off the other orders entering the same tracking number and service.

Officially you are not supposed to and if you use tracking numbers on multiple orders you run the risk of it affecting your VTR as they will be invalid.

The couple that I have had I sent them separate whilst thinking what to do for future orders now the VTR is in play.
Thing is, if I buy 6 separate items from Amazon so they are separate orders then Amazon send them altogether

So I have just done a live chat!
we have been advised that we have to send them separately. See response below:
** You will have to send them seperatelty.
.
Me: So we have to pay 2 x postage and use 2 lots of packaging? Are we not trying to save the planet. It seems really environmentally wrong?
** I’m sorry but we would advise to do that because if the buyer claims that item is not receive therefore we don’t have evidence for that.
That’s why we advise to ship the item seperately.

Best not to combine them - we have this happen all the time and never take the risk. If you buy through Amazon Shipping it won’t let you do that and take that as my lead.

I don’t use buy shipping but when that happens I generally look at the postage element if there is enough in there to allow tracked I mark all dispatched using stamps except 1 put a note in all the comments that it has been shipped with order xyz include an individual packing slip for each order and send tracked, and advise the customer that orders x y z have been shipped together under track_ref where there is not enough postage lee way I just send individually and include a polite note to consider the environment when ordering multiple items.

Ive always gone by this Amazon policy for combining:
When possible, items from multiple orders will be combined into the same parcel. This helps to reduce the number of parcels sent to you, so you have less packaging material to dispose of when you receive your orders.
Items from multiple orders will be combined into the same parcel if the orders meet the following criteria:
The orders are placed through the same customer account.
The orders are being dispatched to the same address.
The orders are dispatching at around the same time.
The orders are being delivered to an EU address.
Combining items from multiple orders into a single parcel won’t change the delivery costs you pay for each order. You’ll be charged separate delivery charges for each of your orders. However, you won’t be charged more than the total amounts quoted at checkout for all orders.

it’s possible and doable on Amazon but technically it shouldn’t be done and I think that’s for the reason that if the customer decides to exercise their right of withdrawal on one of the orders and not the others then they cannot refuse delivery of the packet without being forced to withdraw from the other orders in it.

I’ve noticed on the order confirmation screen you can add packages together now when you confirm dispatch so perhaps things are changing

buy a backup book of stamps from the post office / supermarket and then ignore buy shipping for those orders
confirm despatch from seller central using the drop downs royal mail and then dropdown royal mail 2nd class
simples!
