Is There a Deadline or Timeframe for Amazon to Complete KYC Verification?
Dear All,
We are one of many sellers on the Amazon UK marketplace who are struggling to pass KYC verification. Our verification has been ongoing since 30th March 2025. Each time Amazon requests additional documents, the process is extended by another 2–3 weeks.
We comply with all the required criteria, including:
- Our business director resides in the UK.
- The business has a unique physical address (not a virtual office).
- We have provided utility bills for this address.
- We have submitted the last 3 VAT filings, along with payment receipts showing amounts paid to HMRC.
Despite fulfilling all these requirements, every time we contact Amazon regarding the verification status, we are simply told to "wait patiently." Meanwhile, our suppliers understandably do not wait patiently for their payments. The funds held by Amazon are severely affecting our cash flow, creating significant financial pressure and stress.
I would like to ask other sellers who may be experiencing the same issue—or could in the future—as well as the forum moderators:
- Is there any legal deadline or timeframe for an organisation operating in the UK to complete KYC verification?
- Do they have the right to prolong the process indefinitely?
For example, if even after 3 months Amazon says, “Verification is still in progress, please wait patiently,” what rights do we have as sellers?
How long are we expected to wait before we are entitled to take further action?
