Private labelling do i need brand registered

If i private label a product, does my brand need to be registered before i can add to inventory. At the moment it is not recognising my EAN as i have not registered my brand as i am a new seller so would appreciate some guidance please. Thanks

There is no need to have your brand trademarked and Brand Registered to be able to list items on Amazon.

But you when creating new listings on Amazon, you need to provide a valid product identifier such as EAN, UPC, JAN or ISBN code, unless you were granted an exemption.

If the product doesn’t have a barcode, you will either need to purchase one from GS1 or request an exemption for the particular category.
