Malicious claim damaging my account
Customer bought a small candle in a jar, prior to posting it was checked as glass, and was fine. Obviously unused. After delivery I had a return request stating “used” not new as described. I accepted the return after speaking with SS although I knew it was not used. The customer posted it back and informed amazon I had sold him a used item instead of new. POA required and listing removed.
Today the candies arrived back, clearly not used. Wick is still blue as it would be when wax poured in production.
So it seems it was a long winded and bogus charge as a ‘change of mind’ as amazon now selling the same item for far less.

Take photo of return including item just in case buyer or Amazon takes further action.

I am sorry to hear this, unfortunately Amazon will not accept any proof of the item in question being new as an alternative to a standard appeal.
Once you receive a complaint and Amazon requests you to provide additional information - such as a Plan of Action, invoices, documents or certificates, there is nothing you can do but comply.
You don’t need to admit your guilt. All they want is to explain them, what you believe caused the complaint.
Then they want to hear, how did you handle the issue, for example accepted any returns and carefully checked your entire inventory.
And the last thing is telling them, what will you do to prevent similar complaints in the future. For example describing all your items accurately, continuing to source supplies from reputable distributors…
This is all about handling the complaint and preventing them, not about you selling Used items.
Also, definitely check out my thread with detailed instructions how to handle “Used Sold As New” Customer Product Complaints:

I think that there is a part of us that really dos not want to believe that Amazon .are so underhand , that they would make up this whole story , just to get your invoice details . And to go on to sell the very same product you were selling
But the longer you sell on this platform , you start to Realise that is exactly what they do.
Your item was a candle.mine was a lipstick, but back story is the same .
