Individual Seller £30 Fee Charged

Hi, I'm just trying to setup a store to sell a few 3D designed and printed products. I understood that the individual seller account was based on a .75 per sale fee plus other per sale fees.

Today I received an email from Amazon stating it had charged me £30. Whilst on it's own, it's not a great deal, but it is unexpected and I don't want a regular subscription until I'm selling a good few units.

I couldn't raise a support ticket, I just wasn't presented with a suitable option.

Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Also, I think my store would be best located in the Amazon Handmade section, I can't see how to change or apply for this.

Thanks in advance.

There is a difference between an individual account and individual plan, although Amazon do not make it clear when you sign up. If you are being charged £30 a month you are on the pro plan.

If you are selling things for a profit, you should be registered as a business and on a professional account, but you can be on an individual plan, with no monthly fees, but higher per sales fees. You can downgrade or upgrade the plan anytime. If you are selling quite a few a month, it is better to be on the pro plan.

Additionally I believe you have to have the Professional plan to sell in Handmade - they used to wiave the fee but not sure now.

As per @Seller_MT8rt0A2OpbCxreply, you have got ACCOUNT and PLAN mixed up. As soon as you click on the orange 'Sign-Up' button they automatically put you on the professional PLAN - which is NOT the same as having a BUSINESS seller account. If you're selling goods for profit then you MUST have a Business seller account, and be registered with HMRC as a sole-trader. You will have to keep accounts and do annual tax return. Yes you can be on the individual PLAN (I am) which is an extra 90p per sale, and the pro plan is only financially better if you are selling at least 33 items a month.

that’s same here I make handmade and started to create first my individual account last two months to study the platform first and create products before I go live but even I choose individual I get as well billed for professional . I find it out when I checked my plan. I change it back to individual and they didn’t charge me the next month.
