Exclusively for Prime Members?
Ive noticed that quite a few listings that i sell are aslo sold by amazon.
They seem to be heavily discounting at a price below what anyione can make anything on the product (no surprise there)
But ive never noticed this ‘Exclusively for Prime Members’.have i just nevr seen this before is ist it a new tactic.Or has it always said this?
I have prime so of course i can check how it works at checkout.
I assume that non prime members that want to purchase FBA(sold by amazon) wont be elligible?

Every now and then, there are “prime only” items - this is no news. But those items are rare, and obviously always mean a financial loss to Amazon.

Hi,
I see it a lot on DVDs. Probably over the last 18 months. I didn’t really understand it.
However, quite recently I sold a DVD and as ever I clicked through to see why I sold ( generally because I’m the cheapest )
The DVD I sold was £5 Buy Box " Prime Only ". My customer paid 8 including postage. So I could only conclude clearly, yes, this means that Prime Only item is only available to Prime Buyers, and my buyer wasn’t. as nobody would pay more than the cheapest sold by Amazon.

We have noticed Amazon sell some of our products, we are the manufacturers but they do not buy from us, the price they are selling for is so low they must be making a loss because it is barely above the price we sell to distributor’s. It is quite frustrating particularly when we get calls from our customers and distributor’s asking why we sell our products at such a low price to Amazon.

Ive just logged in on a non prime account and as it says these offers are for prime only.
Its amazons way of sgenerating new prime members even if it means taking a hit on the product but at the expense of all other sellers (again nothing new here)
At leats i know i dont have to match their prime only offering and will still attract non prime customers who want FBA

Been going on for a while, they sell products that we do at much less than we normally pay - so we order as many as we can, and then sell them when the price goes back up. Think they have cottoned on to this now though, as the last couple of times they have restricted the number of units that you can buy.

I think it’s also to do with limited supply. I bought an xbox game for my son at Christmas and the only place I could find it with stock was Amazon. Soon after I made the purchase (A few days mind not minutes) I noticed that it was now only available to Prime cusotmers (I’m not). The price hadn’t changed. It is now again available for anyone to purchase.
