Drop in sales for May 2022

Hi,
Our sales have dropped suddenly. It used to be one of the best selling product on Amazon. Our product has over 1500 ratings. We have even lowered our prices for the inventory (few items are being sold on break even while others are being sold on a lower price. Campaigns are being run. The orders from PPC are low as well whereas Organic orders are even quite low as compared to PPC Orders. How orders can be increased (both organic and sponsored ads). Sponsored ads are optimized as well.
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Hi, we are also facing the same problem. Sales dropped suddenly. Ask for pointers.

The media are today reporting consumer confidence is at it’s lowest level since 1974. That is serious. I’ve been retailing for almost 30yrs and have never seen it so tough. The worry is we are not even yet in the middle of it - unemployment is low (for now) and families have not yet felt the full effect of the cost of living increase. And then you’ve got the obvious problem that there’s so much choice out there so as sellers we are fighting for every sale. Margins are squeezed. I really hope I am wrong but I fear it’s going to get worse for retail, non-essential in particular.

same here, my best seller this time of year was selling well until yesterday, my item was on top 1st page but now i cant even find it on Amazon, i asked a friend to search showed up on 2nd page for her, she lives 300 miles away so sure they change the areas of the country now and then…maybe just a thought as checked an item today now showing “small business” under the listings and you can now click which area you want to buy from.

Jubilee mate… that’s all people are talking about/buying for at the moment, look at the charts on Amazon they are all skewed. Will settle down again after next week when people have been paid and the jubilee has passed I’m sure

Sales are much higher for me in the last week. My most expensive item is only £12.99 though so I’m guessing this isn’t hit so hard by poverty issues. I wish I culd rule out buying habits.

The only thing could be competitors or a string of bad reviews. I find even one negative review will halt sales for that day.

I don’t think Amazon are tinkering, it’s just a general declining trend.

So far this weekend I am approx 50% down on last wk’end. A friend (who sells 150-250 items/day) I spoke to earlier this morning is saying the same - at least 50% down on last wk’end. His other selling site is also -50%. Like me he’s been selling for decades but is a bit more worried this time…
