Forgot to say in the last post, I sell second hand vinyl LP's mainly from the 70's and 80's. These do not have bar-codes.

I am getting more and more of my listings deactivated by Amazon, guess what the fix is, they want a "External Product ID" after some investigation, they want a BARCODE!. w. t. f. I have explained to seller support that my listings do not have barcodes as they are pre-barcode and vintage, and it is was not a problem when I started selling 15 years ago. The not very helpful answer was, get a barcode generator. I explained that if I created my own barcode the listing wouldn't comply with the Amazon rule to "Provide the external ID (barcode) type and corresponding value that is being used to identify the product". Trying to make sense of the rules is like entering a maze with no exit.

Selling on Amazon is like walking though quicksand, the more you get into it (listing products) the harder it is to get out!
