Selling Application for ASIN that has Transparency Enabled
Quote: "Document must meet the following requirements:
In order to list this ASIN, please send us 1 valid Transparency code or serial number. You can either take a picture of the Transparency code or serial number "
We don't understand this procedure.
Can we possibly buy one piece of the product from another seller on Amazon? The transparency sticker with a transparency number should be already on the product, because the ASIN is transparency enabled.
Then what we basically do is take this transparency number from the item we bought from another seller on Amazon and submit this transparency number to Amazon as a part of our Selling Application for ASIN that has Transparency Enabled.
Will this trick work?

I don't know what you plan exactly but know that a transparency code is not like FNSKU. EACH product has another code, its own one. One code = one item.
Like this the brand avoids other sellers to sell fake products.

Neither do we.............................

Read this very actual post. It concerns exactly this problematic and shows that probably you are not right.

Hello @Seller_nRD6f4mcgVIU3:
Tiff here from Amazon. Thanks for asking about the Amazon Transparency program. It sounds like you're interested in learning more about the procedures for listing Transparency enabled products, yes?
Here is some additional information from our Amazon program and help pages. I focused on pulling out the highlights that might best address an overview and your specific question.
About: Transparency is an Amazon program that proactively protects consumers against counterfeit products and ensures brands are accurately represented in the marketplace. Transparency protects brands on the FBA (Retail + third-party sellers) and FBM channels, meaning that only third-party sellers with genuine product are able to list and ship orders to customers. Transparency protects brands and customers by ensuring that every unit shipped is authentic. Whether fulfilled by Amazon or shipped directly by selling partners, these products cannot be listed on Amazon or shipped without valid Transparency codes.
Transparency protection verifies products on an ASIN level. A basic overview:
- Brands tell us which products to enroll and share product info.
- Amazon generates transparency codes with secure software.
- Each code is unique and must be added to every unit manufactured by the brand.
- After checks are turned on, anyone selling enrolled products will need to provide valid transparency codes before they sell in the brand listing or create one of their own.
- We also verify transparency codes before product ships (regardless of whether fulfilled by Amazon or fulfilled by merchant). If right code isn't there, the item doesn't ship.
- Customers can verify authenticity with Transparency app or Amazon shopping app.
How does Transparency work for sellers that fulfill their own orders? Selling partners are required to provide a Transparency code for every unit of Transparency-enabled products they fulfill in order for Amazon to verify that only authentic units are shipped to customers.
Transparency serial number barcode requirements
- Some manufacturers now label their products with Transparency 2D barcodes or serial number barcodes to better track their inventory and ensure its authenticity.
- Your Transparency-enabled products for sale on Amazon must be appropriately labeled with Transparency codes or brand-issued serial number barcodes.
- The Transparency-enabled ASINs you source from vendors must also include Transparency codes or serial number barcodes.
- Transparency enabled products have a serial number applied to the product packaging. If you cannot find a code with a T logo, look for a serial number code that is between 7-20 characters long. The serial number can be a 1D, 2D or QR code and will likely include the pre-fix "SN". The serial number code will be applied to the same side of the packaging as the GTIN (UPC/EAN/ISBN) barcode.
Does this help?
