Update/add Bullet Points
Just want to mention this matter here, in case there are sellers like me who still hasn’t updated all listings to have bullet points.
I have been changing my descriptions to include bullet points when I doing any kind of editing on some of my listings, but there are still quite a few of them doesn’t have any bullet points. Since I was fine with how my product page looked before without the bullet points, I just didn’t made the effort to change them all.
Well, today I was going to Edit an item that hasn’t been sold for a while, and noticed this warming:
and there is a red box around Bullet point that said: “The value in this field is required.”
Checked some of the other listings and looks like all the none bullet point listings all have the warnings now.
I don’t know how long this warning has been there since I hasn’t try to edit this item for a while, but when I added bullet points on couple items in the beginning of July to create a variation family, there was no warning signs. Don’t remember if I edit anything else since beginning of July.
Don’t know if not having the bullet points actually had detrimental effect on my sales, which has slowed since Aug, but pretty much the usual slow summer kind of slow. But just to be safe I am going to add bullet point to as many of them as time allows hopefully get them all done before the holiday season.

That just started showing up on mine last week. I have been slowly adding them.
I believe somewhere it did say they will be suppressing them in search but I can’t find it now. However when you check your suppressed listings, the bullet point ones don’t show as suppressed. At least not in my case.

Hi everyone! Sharing an important communication regarding Bullet Points and Keywords
Due to their critical nature in search relevancy and the customer experience, Handmade made both search terms and bullet points required on all listings in October 2021 .
We later discovered our implementation hadn’t occurred as intended and only impacted newly created ASINs. On September 1, we were able to prioritize a correction and extend the search term and bullet point requirement to any Handmade ASINs that are being edited.
We understand that this may create more work for our sellers, but truly believe this is in the best interests of customers. Bullet points are especially important as they allow customers to skim product details to make quicker purchasing decisions.
What are good bullet point practices?
-
Order your bullets by importance
-
Keep your bullet points clear and concise , so avoid over-stuffing your bullet points with keywords and other content.
-
Bullet points should be quick facts about your product – materials, dimensions, appropriate age ranges, benefits, or even warnings.
-
Don’t exceed 15 words/500 characters for each bullet point or 1,000 characters total
What should you avoid when creating bullet points?
-
NO pricing information, shipping details, or information about you/your company
-
NO marketing or advertising-y like content
-
NO HTML or fancy codes
-
NO run-on sentences
Pro Tip : Bullet points can be removed from your detail page when they violate any of these standards, so be sure to review your detail pages frequently!
