1300% drop in Reviews to Sales ratio in last 12 months

My listings have not changed in price or quality, yet in last 12 months my Reviews to sales ratio has gone from a historic average of 1 Review for every 6.6 Sales (high ratio is due to our products being made to order and personalised) down to 1 Review for 90 Sales.

I've contacted Seller Support and Account Health but they can see no issue with my account and keep on repeating that it's down to customers or the Amazon automated reviews process- but that there is nothing that can be done to help. I tried escalating but Seller Support refuse to investigate the matter any further.

There is clearly an issue somewhere and my store performance is increasingly suffering- which I believe is at least partly because of this.

Can anything be done or should I accept that there is a problem with the automated Amazon review process and it's out of my hands entirely?

Hi @Seller_3tUpTbUNDbwCw,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I understand your concern about the significant drop in your review-to-sales ratio over the past 12 months. Could you please share your case ID with us?

Review Your Current Practices:

  • Ensure you're only using Amazon's "Request a review" button in Seller Central
  • Confirm you're not inadvertently violating any communication guidelines

Optimize Your Review Request Strategy:

  • Consider enrolling eligible products in Amazon Vine if available
  • Focus on providing exceptional customer service to naturally encourage reviews

Please refer to the help page 'Answers to questions about reviews and related topics’.

Best,

Kai

We're having similar issues.

We've had nearly 400 sales in the past month but only 2 pieces of feedback (and of course, 1 is negative). We are even using a 3rd party tool to automatically request feedback from customers 10 days after delivery and it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

I don't have the time to sit there and request a review for each individual order, there has to be a better way around this.

I think this is down to 'review fatigue'. We've seen a lot less reviews in the last 12 months.

Personally, I've stopped leaving product reviews. Life is too short!

I just checked review ralley as we worked with them and I noticed that they shut down on Februray 1st lol

Anyway when I want to manually request a review I always get following message:

You can’t use this feature to request a review outside the 5-30 day range after the order delivery date.

It does not matter which date it is, I can not request a review. And we hardly get a review with approx. 500-600 sales a month.

Hi Tidystands ,

You might like to know there's another recent thread about this "100% FBM: ~3,000 orders / 6 seller feedback in 12 months — why so low? How are others getting thousands?"

I sell books and have had 25 seller feedbacks in the past year on around 350 orders (1 neutral as the envelope was torn [by the P. O.?])

It may be the product type, the expectations of the customers, lethargy, disinterest etc.

In my experience Buyers are much more likely to feedback if they have a complaint or grievance...

My impression, for what it's worth, based on the relative time-clumping of feedbacks, is that Amazon periodically send out Seller feedback requests, to which some buyers respond...

They may do this more consistently with some Seller's products than others, and obviously the higher the volume of sales, the more potential feedbacks...

It has been suggested a number of times that no feedback means the Customer is happy with the product and service and the transaction and, after a couple of weeks, deserves a 5* feedback, and this is even more true for a repeat customer...

Hope these thoughts help

All Best

Brian

I keep getting the same generic answers- but no one from Amazon seems to really be listening. I'm hoping you might be able to help me to escalate this, or at least help me truly understand what the issue is.

To help with perspective, I'm attaching a screenshot of my latest 4 reviews (please see their dates for reference).

I would really appreciate it if you could help me with this vital issue.

Another clear smoking gun is the fact that the number of Seller Feedback (as opposed to product reviews) left by customers after ordering from us over the last 12 months has nearly doubled (they are all positive)!

Hi Kai_Amazon,

Thank you for getting back to me.

I have tried using the Request Review but no joy either.

I'm not violating any communications guidelines.

Last case number with regards to this was 12077686582

In past I've contacted Amazon about this issue and they ask me to give an example of when a review was left by customer and it's not showing in my product- but how can I possibly do this without either violating communication guidelines (by contacting customers) or by buying my own product and leaving myself a review- both of which I would be punished for?

I keep getting the same generic answers- but no one from Amazon seems to really be listening. I'm hoping you might be able to help me to escalate this, or at least help me truly understand what the issue is.

Like I mentioned, my product and service remain exactly the same as always- same product, same price, same designs, same dispatch and delivery time window etc. My products and service continues to be equally exceptional and there is absolutely no way for me to understand such a radical drop in Reviews to Sales ratio from my end- hence my push for answers from Amazon end.

When performing an Amazon AI Seller Assistant investigation I received the following conclusion, but there are no issues in my account health- which was confirmed by an Amazon Account Health assistant too:

"This investigation strongly suggests your account has been flagged for review policy violations, which would completely explain the dramatic drop in review generation you're experiencing."

To help with perspective, I'm attaching a screenshot of my latest 4 reviews (please see their dates for reference).

I would really appreciate it if you could help me with this vital issue.
