SFP & DPD UK Setup/Costs

First time poster, long time lurker
I am seller fulfilled prime but Royal Mail keep letting me down on the delivery side even though we ship on time for the most part. On the basis of this I am actually shifting a lot of logistics to DPD for my own website as they are more accountable.
Problem is, I can only see DPD in my shipping settings from Amazon and they are offering a rate that is much higher than what I have with DPD direct. When we set up Royal Mail the prices are on par to my own and form part of my overall volume / performance with them - is this different with DPD or am I just expected to suck it up and pay the difference if I want to use DPD in this instance. Thats not really likely due to the pricing delta I just want to understand if I’m missing the obvious here.

You’re not missing the obvious. I’m in the same position. While amazon have improved their DPD rates they are still significantly higher than going direct, so, we continue to offer next day delivery with DPD but are unable to email them their one hour delivery slot as Amazon hides these from us now and DPD are not good at sms tracking details with customers. If we had customer emails, it would be great, effectively offering next day delivery every time at a reduced rate and always arriving sooner than Amazon states which is approx 3-5 working days. For that very reason we have not subscribed to SFP yet…
Not sure that helps but solace in numbers…!
