Do I need ISBN Number for Diaries/Planners?
Hi guys,
I’m just wondering if I want to sell diaries/planners (my own brand) on Amazon FBA, do I need ISBN number? I know for sure books must have it, but diaries or planners are not text content, do I need it? I can’t seems to find the answer anywhere but I see many diaries/planners selling on Amazon do have ISBN at the back.
In the case I do need those number, where can I buy it? Do I also need GS1 barcode as well?

ISBNs are now part of the EAN system and diaries are eligible for ISBNs. You get most EANs from GS1 but for ISBNs you have to contact Nielsen, the UK’s ISBN agency. their website is at https://www.nielsenisbnstore.com/
And just to be pedantic, they are International Standard Book Numbers, so referring to them as ISBN numbers is unnecessary. Same as talking about PIN numbers. But everyone does it!
