Where is the best place to offload personal DVD collection
I thought this might be a useful place to ask for advice. Like many, I have a personal collections of DVDs that I no longer need and wouldn’t mind getting some cash for them. I am fully aware I am looking at pence per DVD but is any one better than another? Music Magpie? High Street CEX? Just chuck them in the skip?
Less hassle the better!

A skip is the simplest option if the numbers are low. Maybe do a job lot on ebay, buyer collects.
Charity shop maybe to make you feel good??

CEX/Music Magpie are probably good options, other would be carboot sale.
They will pay £0.50 to £1 each

DVD’s do get deleted and become unavailable. I’ve quite an obscure taste and have had to go to great lengths to get some releases. If you think you might have anything like that its worth checking sold prices for them on ebay. You might find some, depending. Those kind of films/TV series don’t tend to be available from any online source, legit or not. Then again if it is rare then you will usually find someone selling pirate copies of it on ebay so the sold prices might be skewed by that.

Try to prune your collection. Sell anything worth above £7 on Amazon or Ebay. The rest you can take to CEX. Anything they offer me less than 10p I give to a charity shop. If you have a lot can be worth trading in for electronics, e.g. Blu Ray player

Local auction house might take them. Sometimes you get car booters looking for stock. They will charge to put them through whether they sell or not. The local one here charges £2 per lot minimum. Cheaper than a skip though, unless it’s someone else’s.

Have you got either “In The Mouth of Madness” or “Prince of Darkness” by John Carpenter? They’ve had neither in the local CEX for months.

Put them on Gumtree. No selling fees. Someone might want them.
