Fake reviews in one of my products

Since Amazon was not of a great help dealing with the increased fake reviews in one of my products I had to source help or clarification outside of the platform.

One of the downsides is the cost it brings to make things right.

I haven’t paid anything as I expect an amazon representative to get in touch with me ASAP!

I am also making this public to make people aware that fake reviews are a big deal on Amazon and affect sales and genuine businesses.

oops there goes my internet search history looking at your item

whats the issues with the reviews and who are you paying all this money too ?
are you sure you aren’t being scammed by these people claiming to help you and they are in fact the ones causing the issues ?

I would not part with anymore money, it just drives them to do it again!

Have you tried emailing the MD email address and explaining the situation?

If you go on Google and type law centre fake reviews in the search field. There is a lawyer who can help you.

We did our own study on fake reviews wanted to share this with you. We discovered fake reviews were written by the same age group age 50 to 55 in our case. We also noticed they were usually in close proximity of one another and even linked by profession. What we also noticed when you receive one negative review you are 100% likely to get a few more. Fake reviews are usually instigated by a competitor someone who is selling the same product as you or similar. They do what they can to damage your brand and even attempt to drive you out of business. The age group of the competitor will usually match the age group of the negative reviews. If you look at all the negative reviews you will see a pattern.

This pattern will be along the lines of:-

  1. Item was faulty, did not work, did not fit, poor quality so on

In response to all the above

if faulty return it and we will issue a replacement or refund.
If it did not work send it back and we will fix the problem
If its poor quality why dont you return it we will fix it

Just for information at the moment we have a group males all similar age decided to tell their friends in France and also around the UK to place orders with us. They originate from Southampton area and Cambridge. All the claims are ficticious. All the males decided not to contact us to let us know there was a problem with the order but decided to leave one star reviews. Its quite clear they needed to select problem with order but instead they selected write review.

In addition to the above we are noticing more fake names and inaccurate delivery information.

Also all the claims where the buyer attempted to defraud both us and Royal Mail were passed on to Royal Mail and Laposte revenue protection team.

I personally wouldn’t pay any money to find out or get rid of fake reviews.

Is it really impacting your sales a lot as most of your reviews for the item are very good…I wouldn’t personally worry about the odd bad review. I certainly wouldn’t pay anyone to get rid of reviews and I am not sure if this is against Amazon policy anyway.

I am actually amazed that people review this item in such detail…

Complete and utter scam and sadly you brought this down on yourself. The people you’re in contact with are the scammers. £150 to send you the competitors details…and compensation to the fake reviewers!!!

Really?

Do not under any circumstances send them any money. If you do, wave goodbye to not only your money but your business also.

I feel you. Ive got the same issue as I am sure does every honest seller. Most recently, two of the fake reviews are identical word for word on the one product by two different “people”! They have written a nice a long review so it sits at the top! It is obviously fake and yet Amazon does nothing after me repeatedly reporting it with images etc. I guess it helps their own competing products gain ranking by not supporting sellers fight against fake negative reviews left by these very bad people. Amazon needs to be regulated better as they are taking the p.
