Damaged Product sold on Amazon Warehouse Deals

Hey Sellers,

Got a product that was returned by a customer with packaging in a damaged condition. I completely lost track of the item to have it removed on time. Amazon partially reimbursed me for the item, however, they are now selling it on Amazon Warehouse Deal for a low price.
Is there a way to stop Amz for selling a defective item, even though the issue is clearly stated under the Condition item? I am just afraid that might attract a negative review because of this.

Any feedback much appreciate!

As soon as Amazon reimburse you they are free to do what they like with the product. Yes you’re right to worry about a neg review or worse a used sold as new complaint where they did not check the condition before putting in basket.
All I can suggest is enabling Automated Unfulfillable Removal in your FBA settings so items can’t get overlooked or resold by Amazon in future.
However bear in mind Amazon’s definition of sellable and unfillable may differ to your own.

Thanks for your suggestion! It is displayed as Used- Acceptable condition but with some customers, you never know when you get that “surprise” review. I will most probably enable this option so I can avoid this sort of situation in the future. You are right their definition of “sellable” for a defective/damaged item is different than mine since I wouldn’t consider selling the item in this condition even for a very low price.

Not sure if this helps or not but this was my experience with warehouse deals:

I ordered a new motherboard for a gaming computer from Amazon Warehouse Deals on my personal purchase account. The box it arrived in was correct, but the board inside was years old, dusty and obsolete. Only the form factor was the same as the item I paid for in “as new” condition.

I am guessing, but my guess is that someone ordered a new baord, returned their old one and then it ended up in the warehouse deals. It may be a bit much to ask for Amazon to know how to identify the differences in circuit boards. However, this one was so filthy and covered in dust that anyone opening the box should have immediatly realized it was used.

I hope this adds something to your thread.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Never purchased anything via Amazon Warehouse Deals. However, my product was new and carefully sealed and returned by the client after 3 days of receiving it. But seems like the package has been damaged. it is accurately described by Amazon but unless I can see it with my own eyes I can’t judge its condition. Anyway, next time I will make sure to remove it straight away.
