My Hermes Returns Instructions

Hi

Does anyone know what customers do when they receive a free returns label for My Hermes through Amazon?. I have a customer who is a bit lost in what to do and tbh as Amazon deals with this kind of thing so am I. Just thought I would fire this off here before removing my brain and engaging Seller Support.
Thanks in advance.

They have to take the parcel to the nearest hermes drop off shop. These are normally small independent shops.

You can find a list of these hermes drop off shops on the hermes website

Depending where the customer lives there may be a shop nearby. For example I live in Birmingham and there are multiple shops to drop them off at. If however the customer lives in a more rural location they may struggle to find a drop off shop nearby.

Actually, the instructions are very clear and the buyer is offered many options complete with the nearest drop-off shop finder and a choice of printing their own label or printing it in the shop ( you get a map with the shops with this service too).
I had to return something a few days ago and it was beyond easy and clear.

Same with returns with Royal Mail- you even get a QR code to be scanned at the PO ( I have printers but did try this once out of curiosity).

I suppose, if the customer lives in a rural area, they could contact the seller and clarify the return derails, that is if the return reason is genuine and they picked the correct one.

Call me cynical, but so many are now choosing the wrong reason just to get a free return label and a full refund!

The return instructions are in the email from Amazon.

  1. Print the QR barcode return label or use mobile device showing the QR code.
  2. Take it to the nearest Hermes return point.
  3. Scan the QR code which will then print a return label.
  4. Attach the label on the parcel return.
  5. Get a receipt of the return.

In my opinion its not worth returning low value items because the cost of processing the return would be more than the actual retail cost of the item, unless it falls under the heading seller responsibility.

For example returning an item for £6.00 the return cost £3.35 plus the fee associated with the transaction and also outbound shipping costs also the costs of processing the return.

We are having the same issue. We have had a number of customers recently confused as to what to do with the labels… some are even saying they haven’t actually been provided with a label… it was working correctly at the beginning when they implemented it though. I suspect people are maybe missing the big yellow button for printing the label? Or they would rather us arrange a collection for them instead perhaps?

Hermes do offer collection from home. Do amazon not offer this on Hermes returns?
Seems very odd if they don’t as surely there’s more money in it for Amazon.

To answer the original post:

The Buyer just prints off the Hermes label and sticks that on their parcel. Then they take to a Hermes store.

They have to print it, and no collection.

It costs you £3.30 for the label, you can charge if the item is unwanted.

The problem is Hermes are not the best, and if lost, stolen or damaged, you basically have no insurance. Therefore, if asked, we provide a Royal Mail pre-paid label to a Buyer, as it is cheaper and includes £100 transit cover, which we can put in a claim. RM rarely lose a parcel as well, unlike Hermes.

Hermes if you have an issue, say to contact Amz as their Hermes Account, and Amz, say contact Hermes as Amz are not the courier (there is supposed to be £20 cover, but impossible to claim).

==

A Buyer just raised an A-Z to us, as no refund for a return using Hermes (Hermes have not delivered the parcel, and likely lost in transit), so A-Z counts against us, and we lost nearly £45 as we cannot claim a loss from Hermes as not on our A/c. Anyone won an A-Z appeal on this sort of thing?
