Apparently not a joke.
A search on google re insurance required to sell on Amazon UK returns this:

Under Amazon's policy, you must obtain public and product liability insurance with a minimum of £400,000 in cover and add Amazon as an "additional insured".

Is this for the UK as Amazon removed the need to have them mentioned on policies.
It is not normal on Amazon UK to have to provide them with your insurance polices unless a claim is made against you.
If it is USA which the email tends to indicate then it is necessary to have Amazon added to the policy. There are insurance companies who will do this for you.

Does this relate to a business on Amazon.com?
there have been other posts regarding liability and other insurances for sales in the USA.
Many sellers don't sell to the US (on amazon or other business channels) because of the high costs of insurance.

The point being though the insurance is mine, its is there to cover for any issues connected to my business whether thats through Amazon, Ebay, Directly, Not on the High Street.
Who do Amazon think they are to demand that they are mentioned on my Insurance - do you get Ebay asking for that?

does amazon 'resell' your stock in USA on amazon.com? that may be the way of them protecting themselves from claims. from what I know selling in USA is like rodeo in Texas with insurance claims and separate insurance policy is required to sell in USA, that was the reason I did not want to have anything to do with USA

Agree after we all paid to have them included they then said it was not necessary.
