European KYC Audit and Changes to Japanese Site Company
We recently received a notification regarding a European KYC audit. However, as we are not yet selling on the European site and do not have plans to do so in the near future, we would like to understand if verification is necessary for us at this stage. Additionally, if we decide to delay verification, will this have any impact on our North American and Asian sites?
On a different note, we would like to know if it is possible to change to a separate new company for the Japanese site? Will this affect other sites?

Hi @Seller_aigRgonyq3taV
I looked up your brand and found that while you operate in the US through a California-based entity, your brand/company seems to originate from Sweden, correct?
As you operate through two separate entities, the situation regarding the European KYC audit isn't entirely clear. The "Directive on Administrative Cooperation–7th Amendment (DAC7)" help page (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/GM472VUSJDLG2HSB) states that "DAC7 affects sellers with a primary address in the EU, irrespective of the store that they sell in." Furthermore, it says "your non-compliant Amazon accounts will be deactivated and your funds will be withheld." While I'm not sure this actually applies to you due to the two-company setup, I would recommend providing the KYC information to be on the safe side.
Regarding your Japanese marketplace question:
The 'Selling policies and seller code of conduct' help page (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G1801) states in the 'Multiple selling accounts on Amazon' section: "You may only maintain one Seller Central account for each region in which you sell unless you have a legitimate business need to open a second account and all of your accounts are in good standing." The key parts here are "for each region" and "legitimate business need."
Do you already have any seller accounts in the Far East region (which includes Japan, Singapore, and Australia)? This would be important to know as it affects whether you can open a new account in Japan.
In any case, I strongly recommend opening a case to get official approval before setting up the new account. Feel free to share the case ID here so the moderators can also look into it for you.
Kind regards, Michael
