"Prior refund applied" - But how about or items that arrived damaged or a restocking fee?

I understand that the "prior refund applied" policy is that the customer is refunded at the first scan of a returned item. However, what do we do If I get an item back thats damaged or needs a restocking fee applied?

You need to open a Safe-T claim. See →How to file a reimbursement (SAFE-T) claim for instructions.

Make sure you submit photos. A side-by-side photo is ideal, and a copy of the return shipping label (attached to the package). Include a brief explanation with any important details and serial numbers (if applicable).

I also recommend including the dollar amount you are requesting. Amazon usually doesn't do the full 50% for damaged items, so submitting a brief but well-written explanation, good photos, & knowing policy will help. See → Guidelines for charging restocking fees.

You can also ask for outbound shipping to be reimbursed (if you charge for shipping). If the return was customer-faulted, the return shipping should already be auto-deducted; you can check under the Order page or your Payments > Transaction View to confirm. See →Return Reason codes for Prepaid Returns.
