100% FBM: ~3,000 orders / 6 seller feedback in 12 months — why so low? How are others getting thousands?
Hi all,
I’m 100% FBM (no FBA). In the last 365 days I’ve processed just under 3,000 orders and I’ve collected only 6 seller feedback.
I did try sending feedback requests via Buyer-Seller Messaging for a period and got zero improvement, so I stopped.
Questions for other FBM sellers:
Is this kind of feedback rate normal now (buyers just not leaving seller feedback anymore)?
Does anything actually move the needle for FBM without risking policy issues?
Are sellers with thousands of feedback mainly older accounts with years of accumulation, or are they doing something specific?
Is the “Request a Review” button meaningful for FBM (and does it affect seller feedback vs product reviews)?
Not trying to game anything — just want to understand what’s realistic in 2026 for FBM and what’s worth focusing on.
Cheers

Ours dropped last year pretty significantly from previous years, and that trend is continuing. I don't know if it's just us or a larger pattern.
On the occasion I've had to buy from Amazon in the last year, I've received emails asking for feedback, but thinking about it that might have only been asking for feedback on the product and not the seller.

Hi NGS_Studio_Ltd,
Nobody knows...
I sell books and have had 25 seller feedbacks in the past year on many fewer orders than you (1 neutral as the envelope was torn [by the P. O.?])
It may be the product type, the expectations of the customers, lethargy, disinterest etc.
In my experience Buyers are more likely to feedback if they have a complaint or grievance...
My impression, for what it's worth, based on the relative time-clumping of feedbacks, is that Amazon periodically send out Seller feedback requests, to which some buyers respond...
They may do this more consistently with some Seller's products than others, and obviously the higher the volume of sales, the more potential feedbacks...
It has been suggested a number of times that no feedback means the Customer is happy with the product and service and the transaction and, after a couple of weeks, deserves a 5* feedback, and this is even more true for a repeat customer...
Hope these thoughts help
All Best
Brian

Sellers are now lucky to get more than 1 feedback in a hundred. The percentages were higher in the early days but it's always been the case that most buyers don't bother.
As for sellers with thousands of feedbacks. Some have obviously been around for several years. A small number are selling many thousands, if not millions, of items per year.

We sell second hand books (FBM) and received virtually no feedback and non in 90 days on a good few sales except for one negative that has caused our account to be flagged up as at risk. Spoken at length to account health who agree it is unfair, used to get a free book perhaps etc. but they wont do anything. They suggest asking for feedback etc. but in my opinion it is a waste of time. I think buyers who receive a review request think this is about the product and not the service.
Contrast this with 10 recent Ebay sales which have all had excellent feedback left without any prompting from us. I do give seller feedback and perhaps Amazon could go down this route but they are so buyer centric and don't value their selllers that I cant see them doing this.
In conclusion it would be useful to be able to generate positive feedback and perhaps other sellers have some ideas how to do this.

FIVE feedbacks in the last year on 10 Amazon platforms. All positive 5* but customers now just raise AZ complaints or contact customer services for a refund whether valid or not rather than contacting sellers or leaving feedback.
Personally I wish Amazon to scrap feedback metrics because more likely it will be to complain rather than praise and one neutral or negative mark can put small sellers into threats of account suspension.
Something needs to change

Customers do not leave feedback unless there is an issue now, which is awful, as it destroys brand reputation. Reviews are often false but retained regardless.

I wonder if people are just fed up of constantly being asked to leave feedback for everything. You get pop ups from the bank, from utility companies, from ecommerce stores and from apps all bugging you for your feedback. It's overload.

7 Amazon marketplaces, 5 feedback since 2023, 3 negative, and 2 positive.
Not bothered anymore.

Hardly ever get feedback, but guarantee if I do it will only be a negative, which then puts your account into warning!

Hopefully to put your mind at ease a bit...
So we sell FBA and FBM (majority of our sales are FBA). In the last 12 months we've had over 23,500 FBA orders and over 10,500 FBM orders.
Our feedback total is 1,896 with just 118 in the past 12 months.
Generally, feedback doesn't mean what it does on other platforms (and most people only leave feedback when they're not happy). We concentrate more on product reviews.
