UK postage cost
Sorry if this has been answered before: postage for books is set at £2.80 but the minimum Royal Mail price is £2.95 and has been since Jan 2018. Why doesn’t Amazon update it?

Because there is no incentive for them to do so. It’s just a token gesture.
Just make sure the prices you charge include anything extra you have to pay such as the additional postage, packaging, your time, etc to give you the revenue you want, after fees and taxes.

Amazon advise it’s only a contribution towards your actual postage cost, you don’t actually see the full £2.80 as Amazon also take their fee from it.
What about smaller books that are LL size and cost only £1.26 to post, would you suggest refunding the buyer for these?
If you are pro-merchant (professional account) or sign up for this selling plan, then you can set your own postage rates, or even offer free postage.
