Amazon and PODs

I sent some stock to Amazon on pallets direct from a supplier.

Amazon then told me 3 of the units arrived as distributor damaged.

I contacted the supplier about it but the supplier produced the POD which shows that Amazon have signed to say the delivery was received in good condition.

I wrote to Amazon and said this has caused me a problem as you signed to say it was in good condition but then said 3 units were damaged.

They just said it doesn’t work like that with Amazon!

I understand the Amazon process. It goes through the crossdock depot and then gets checked when it arrives at the final FC but what a poor response.

This is just another example of Amazon not following normal rules and saying their rules apply.

I am no expert on this as we dont ship anything to amazon anymore but i would think the liability lies with amazon as they have signed it to say it was all received OK after all who says amazon didn’t damage the products whilst moving them around. If they are marked as distributor damaged then surely they must have seen this at the time of delivery and therefore they should have noted this with the courier at the time if the damage happened after that then its amazons fault. if they are saying distributor damaged then what is the evidence they have for this have they supplied any photos of how the pallet was received and what the damage is?

It was received a couple of weeks ago.

They are saying the items arrived damaged and have marked them as distributor damaged. They say I am responsible for this.

I keep trying to explain that they shouldn’t have signed the POD to say everything was okay.

They just keep ignoring the question and sending me the same reply back.
