Search Terms Clarification

Hi I’m looking for a bit of clarification so I’m hoping you can help. Amazon say no repetition in keyword, and to separate each with a space only, however how does this work with search terms/phrases for example I’m selling handmade kids leggings so if I put the following search phrases -

handmade baby leggings,
handmade leggings,
baby leggings

without the commas is this classes as repetition and if so how should I be typing these?

TIA
Valerie

Dear Pickle_Pants_Clothin,

Your keywords (word combinations and phrases) are used to match your ads with search terms shoppers are using to find products.

This means that the system will use your keyword separately but also as a phrase so you do not need to repeat the same word.

Let see which are the rules to follow to optimize keywords:

  • Stay within the length limit. (Less than 250 bytes)
  • Include synonyms and hypernyms.
  • Include spelling variations (not miss-spellings).
  • Include abreviations and alternate names.
  • All lower case.
  • No punctuation e.g. ;:,-.
  • Separate words with spaces.
  • Don’t repeat words within the Generic Keywords field.
  • Don’t repeat words from other fields e.g. title, description.
  • Don’t include your brand or other brands in Generic Keywords.
  • Don’t include other ASINs in Generic Keywords.
  • No need for stop words “a an and by for of the with”.
  • Use singular or plural; no need for both.
  • No temporary statements e.g. “new” , “on sale now” .
  • No subjective claims e.g. “best”, “cheapest”, “amazing”.
  • No abuse or offensive terms.

Thank you!
