Open box but item still in sealed packaging

I’ve tried googling this but the search gets overwhelmed by questions regarding returned items…
I have a few printer inks I will be listing. While changing the ink in our own printer my wife accidentally opened the box to one of the inks I will be selling. So the ink is in an open box but it is sealed in its original packaging. The box is a normal rectangular box that opens on the top and which was sealed with a single piece of clear tape. My wife just slit the tape. If I were to re-tape the box can I still sell this as new or would that run foul of condition guidelines?

Some listings have an “open box” category, but I think this is usually restricted to FBA returns (or warehouse damage) that means the product can no longer be sold as new.

I recently bought a watch through Amazon, FBA. The seal was broken but the watch was untouched. Same condition as you are describing about your box, it seems.
What I am driving at is that as a customer I do not want to buy a new item and see that the seal is broken. Would I have been informed of it in advance or at least with a note in the delivery explaining the situation, I would have felt much better. As it was we kept the watch as Amazon upon contact promised it was new. I could see that it was but still did not like it, I felt tricked.

You can not sell it as new…because it isn’t. You also run the risk of attracting unwanted attention to your account, ‘fake’ ink issue are one of Amazons pet faves.

I am actually having kind of the same problem, it appears. I have a product where there is a small rift in the box but the item is new, seal is unbroken.

I feel there is a condition missing because “An item in perfect working condition.” as stated in Used - Like New or Open Box that means the product could have been opened, taken out of all the wrappings, used once (like trying on a shirt or a watch) and then carefully repacked.
What I have - and OP - is the item inside is never used, it is just the box that has been tampered with and in the end has no value on the item itself.
