And, after over 20 years, it's time to go.

When I started on here, you could pretty much list anything you wanted (within reason). The biggest problem back then was the lazy seller who did the minimum amount of work to put up the listings.

Then Scamazon started asking for information about where we were getting the products, and you could not get a listing done without giving them a supplier. They were just stealing information from sellers for their own ends (something Amazon are brilliant at).

Christmases were incredibly busy (and profitable). Until they weren't. The year they introduced PPC was a disaster. I spent everything on stock for the busy period, only it didn't come. I was left with thousands of pounds of stock, rent, business rates... bla bla bla.

Next was the cut-out the middle man stage where the suppliers stopped supplying us because they were selling directly on Amazon. All these companies who we had bought from and made successful just screwed us over.

Anyway, the changes keep coming, none of them good for sellers, always good for Amazon.

I'm utterly sick of it. Sick of all the Amazon supported scammers, sick of waiting 3 weeks to get paid, sick of all the stress.

I wish all you good, honest, hardworking seller all the best, but I'm not giving this dishonest, morally bankrupt company another penny, or a second of my time.

Goodbye!

I think you are doing the right thing.

I asked the seller assistant how to improve my sales - and it said - Sell on a specialist site (ie not Amazon).

It even recommended a number of sites suitable for my stock (Obviously I already use some of them).

So even their own AI know the writing is on the wall for media on Amz now.

I just found i have 70 books delisted by amazon awaiting brand approval! of course you can't get it on a secondhand book when asked to provide invoices for a large number of items as 'proof' (used to be a simple generic application which mostly succeeded). It's left me thinking, similar to software upgrades, that the next change will finish my business completely, and my enthusiasm is waning. But have had my best run of feedback for a while with nice comments.

yep I'm off as soon as i run down a bit more stock

latest debacle for me is I'm getting warnings for pricing policy, even though i sell customised products and mine are the same or cheaper than fellow sellers

I'm in the fortunate position to not give a "fig" (apparently dam with an n at the end is inappropriate language, the farce continues ) anymore, gave up my retail unit last year, stopped professional seller fees this year and am financially ok to go without the stress of Amazons stupid policies to have to endure

We have sold on here for 5 years - However I thought it was just us having these issues. Amazon are asking us for invoicing from suppliers. First it was it must show 10 or more of the same item by the same brand - NOW it must show 100 items. Then they have over £1000 in the account of goods sold and due to us and for the 3rd time in 6 months we have had to borrow to keep the business going. Last pay out was £13.60 with £1340 still owing to us. Its a big shame because we are both making money but Amazon seem to be trying hardest to stop us where they can.

glad to see it is not just me experiencing this disaster. Commissions are higher and higher. Changes in the site are always for the worst. I try to give feedback when possible but I don't think anyone ever looks. Now consider Jeff Bezos has basically NASA money to provide rockets to the Moon. I wonder if their software is f*cked up like the stratification of old templates and bad codes left in Amazon for decades. Also the brand registry is a disaster: it encourages Chinese sellers selling generics and counterfeits and using their own fantasy brands, while asking us for invoices of products we have had in warehouse for years (how can I produce a recent invoice for a record label that ceased publications, while I have bought some of their records one or two years ago?). Not to mention used books/cds/vinyl, of course...

Yeah I'm heading along the downward spiral, as you say none of the changes benefit the sellers, too many hoops, too many restrictions etc etc I am just slowly reducing stock/listings ....It used to be fun!
