Account Deactivated Due to Suspended Other Account
Hi
I would appreciate some help. My limited company account has been deactivated following 15 years trading. It was deactivated because of another account I own which was suspended. I tried to set up another account as a sole trade selling a new range of products a few months ago but it was suspended within 30 minutes of setting it up (so I didn’t list products or sell from it). I tried uploading more information but then the account no longer allowed me to upload information. I posted the problem here and got the impression Amazon might not like my name listed on the limited company account and setting up a sole trade account (even if the products are different). So I left the suspended account and listed the products on the limited account which was a nuisance as it meant I had to sell my sole trader products to my limited company which was an accounts headache. Last night I received the suspension notice which I will post below.

Hello,
Your Amazon.co.uk Seller account has been deactivated in accordance with section 3 of Amazon’s Business Solutions Agreement. Your listings have been disabled. Funds will not be transferred to you, but will be held in your account while we work with you to address this issue. This may take up to 90 days, but funds may be held for longer. Please ship any open orders to avoid further impact to your account.
Why is this happening?
You have a separate account Hanging+Woods which was enforced for violating one of our policies. As a result, you may no longer use the Stardust Selling account to sell on Amazon.co.uk.
How do I reactivate my account?
In order to reactivate this Selling account, Stardust please follow the below steps:
-
You must first reactivate the account associated with Hanging+Woods by submitting an appeal. Please follow the instructions in the communication received for that account.
-
Once you have successfully reactivated that account, please submit an appeal to reactivate the current account, Stardust by using this link: https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/performance/notifications. When submitting the appeal, you will need to provide us with the name of the account that was reactivated and the date of reactivation.
What if I don’t own the account – Hanging+Woods ?
If you believe you do not own the other account, please follow the below steps:
-
If you once owned the account/were a rights owner but no longer own it/no longer have account rights, please submit an appeal following this https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/performance/notifications and provide supporting documentation to show that you no longer own it/no longer have any relationship to this account. Supporting documentation may include sales deed, purchase agreement, or business transfer agreement, contract termination, etc.
-
If you do not recognise the above account and believe this de-activation was in error, please submit an appeal following this link: https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/performance/notifications and confirm that this account does not belong to you. If we cannot substantiate the claim, your account will not be reinstated and this account will not be allowed to do business on Amazon in the future.
What happens if I do not send the requested information?
If you do not provide a valid appeal, or choose not to appeal the deactivation, after 90 days following this notification, you may separately request a funds disbursement by contacting disbursement-appeals@amazon.co.uk. We will conduct a separate investigation to evaluate your account and if we find that you have engaged in deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity; or have abused our systems or repeatedly violated our Policies that protect our customers and selling partners, we may withhold some or all funds in your account.
Regards,
Seller Performance Team

When I log into the other account, it simply says ‘terminated’ so I have no idea how I could even get it reinstated.

I have submitted an appeal on the basis that they have made an error as one account is owned by a limited company and one owned by me as a sole trader and that account was never used.

Hi, thank you for your reply and you were also helpful when the other account was suspended. I tried uploading passport, copy of tax return, bank statement etc. I have no idea why the account was suspended. I tried uploading a second time just in case the format wasn’t right ie showing the paper edges, etc. Then there was no upload option and there was a message saying " Hello Hanging Woods, You may no longer sell on Amazon.co.uk. As a result, we are not able to assist with this request at this time." But I wasn’t even selling and my account verification was never completed.

On Monday when I tried logging into the new sole trader account (Hanging Woods) that was suspended it said “terminated” with no access to the account. Interestingly today I can gain access and now have the ability to submit more information. I requested they allow me to gain access to Hanging Woods in my limited company account (Stardust) appeal submission. I also requested them to respond to me with detail and clear explanations but sadly received the usual "We received your submission but do not have enough information to reactivate your account at this time. " I was not notified in the status change of the hanging Wood account but at least the process of account reactivation is open to me again.
I am carefully monitoring how they deal with both accounts now to see if there are breaches in their duties under the Online Platform Regulations.
We have had detailed discussions here when I opened the Hanging Wood account about why it was deactivated within minutes of ID being validated and the situation of second guessing is ridiculous. Therefore, instead of submitting yet another document I have asked Amazon to provide me with clear information:
Thank you for allowing access back into this account. When I have tried to gain access to the account on 6 June it simply said “terminated” without any links or options. The suspension of this account has resulted in a suspension of the Limited company account Stardust. I requested this account to be opened for access (through Stardust) which I can now see has been auctioned although I was not notified you had done this. As the issues you are having with this account are impacting on another long standing account, it is vitally important you address the issues with this account clearly and with detail because I need to get this account reactivated as a conditions of the reactivation of the long standing account.
I would like to direct you to your duty under the Online Platform Regulations:
Article 4 Restriction, suspension and termination
- Where a provider of online intermediation services decides to restrict or suspend the provision of its online intermediation services to a given business user in relation to individual goods or services offered by that business user, it shall provide the business user concerned, prior to or at the time of the restriction or suspension taking effect, with a statement of reasons for that decision on a durable medium.
- Where a provider of online intermediation services decides to terminate the provision of the whole of its online intermediation services to a given business user, it shall provide the business user concerned, at least 30 days prior to the termination taking effect, with a statement of reasons for that decision on a durable medium.
- In the case of restriction, suspension or termination, the provider of online intermediation services shall give the business user the opportunity to clarify the facts and circumstances in the framework of the internal complaint-handling process referred to in Article 11. Where the restriction, suspension or termination is revoked by the provider of online intermediation services, it shall reinstate the business user without undue delay, including providing the business user with any access to personal or other data, or both, that resulted from its use of the relevant online intermediation services prior to the restriction, suspension or termination having taken effect.
- The notice period in paragraph 2 shall not apply where a provider of online intermediation services:
(a) is subject to a legal or regulatory obligation which requires it to terminate the provision of the whole of its online intermediation services to a given business user in a manner which does not allow it to respect that notice period; or
(b) exercises a right of termination under an imperative reason pursuant to national law which is in compliance with Union law;
© can demonstrate that the business user concerned has repeatedly infringed the applicable terms and conditions, resulting in the termination of the provision of the whole of the online intermediation services in question. In cases where the notice period in paragraph 2 does not apply, the provider of online intermediation services shall provide the business user concerned, without undue delay, with a statement of reasons for that decision on a durable medium. - The statement of reasons referred to in paragraphs 1, and 2 and in the second subparagraph of paragraph 4 shall contain a reference to the specific facts or circumstances, including contents of third party notifications, that led to the decision of the provider of online intermediation services, as well as a reference to the applicable grounds for that decision referred to in point © of Article 3(1). A provider of online intermediation services does not have to provide a statement of reasons where it is subject to a legal or regulatory obligation not to provide the specific facts or circumstances or the reference to the applicable ground or grounds, or where a provider of online intermediation services can demonstrate that the business user concerned has repeatedly infringed the applicable terms and conditions, resulting in termination of the provision of the whole of the online intermediation services in question.
I am concerned that you are not giving “ the business user the opportunity to clarify the facts and circumstances in the framework of the internal complaint-handling process referred to in Article 11. Where the restriction, suspension or termination is revoked by the provider of online intermediation services, it shall reinstate the business user without undue delay, including providing the business user with any access to personal or other data, or both, that resulted from its use of the relevant online intermediation services prior to the restriction, suspension or termination having taken effect.”
Therefore I request you specifically detail why my account has been deactivated in accordance with section 3 of the Amazon Business solutions agreement and provide a detailed explanation of why the account was deactivated and what information you require to resolve this matter. If you are not able to do this then I request information on how I can gain access to your mediation service.
Please do not respond to this with a generic response such as “we received your submission but to not have enough information…”
Seller_Jr2zLzqQNIloA
Wow, I have already received a reply and I only sent the submission a few minutes ago!
“We received your submission but do not have enough information to reactivate your account. We may not respond to further emails about this issue.”
This has got to be a breach of both the Braganza regulations and Online Platform Regulations.

I need clear information from Amazon about what they require. They have all my ID, address proof and a copy of my tax return. I should not need to change my titles to match. If Amazon require the titles for women to match then I think they need to update this requirement or clearly let women know if this is an issue. However, I do not think it is reasonable to expect seller to stab around in the dark over what Amazon require and I think it is a breach of their duties. Amazon have a duty to inform me of what they need. That response is clearly a bot as a human could not have read my submission and responded in so few minutes.
Seller_Jr2zLzqQNIloA
Yes I imagine the only titles that would be legal might be for example Dr where a person might be impersonating a doctor. I would certainly hope Amazon are not applying a rule to women that does not apply to men.
